Swim Lessons

Did you know the Y was the first organization in America to offer structured swim lessons? Teaching methods are designed to help each participant develop to his or her fullest potential, to encourage safety awareness, and to master skills to the best of his or her ability! Aquatics programs are not only beneficial in developing a healthy lifestyle, but are an excellent place to make new friends and have fun!

NEW!! Y-USA Swim Lesson Program, Coming Spring, 2017!!
Swim Lesson Stage Descriptions

Private Swim Lessons (6 Months - Adult)

Open to any ability level! Participants get a one-on-one lesson for 30 minutes with a qualified swim teacher. Each participant works at his or her own pace, and the lessons are tailored to the swimmer's specific needs!

Group Swim Lessons: Preschool & Elementary Age (3 Years & Up)

Our group swim lessons are 30 minutes in length and each class allows for a maximum of 3-5 students per instructor. Groups are divided by age and ability level to ensure proper instruction for every participant!

Group Swim Lessons: Parent / Tot (6 Months - 36 Months)

PArents will accompany their child into the pool to help them grow comfortable with the water environment. An instructor will provide guidance in how to help your child develop coordination, motor skills, balance, and social skills in the water! Swim diapers are required.

Swim Team

Competitive swimming is the vehicle through which participants learn life lessons that will impact them forever! Working towards a goal is the key to developing the values that we are seeking to instill. Our hope is that all swimmers see marked improvement in technique and swim times as a result of their hard work. We are confident that they will benefit, in many ways, from the fun, fitness, and friendship that they will find as members of the Sharks Swim Team!

Monthly swim meets are optional, but strongly encouraged as part of the complete competitive swimming experience.

Swimmers must try-out before enrolling; please contact the Aquatics Director to schedule a tryout!
